Designing a facade that resonates with both function and identity is always a challenge, especially in an educational context, where architecture must inspire, guide, and represent.
For the Aspee institution facade, we strategically added two additional floor heights to emphasize verticality and presence resulting in a monumental, Marcellus inspired composition that anchors the campus frontage.
The central arch draws conceptual influence from temple architecture, interpreted through a contemporary jali screen that narrates cultural continuity. This screen not only filters light but also frames a symbolic 2100mm dial clock a timeless marker of discipline and rhythm in school life, clearly visible from afar.
The planar foreground doubles as a projection surface during assemblies and cultural events, while also serving as a designated photo backdrop for annual group photographs celebrating the collective spirit of the institution.
Architecture here goes beyond form it becomes a backdrop to learning, memory, and identity.
